LUCIAN A.MSAMBICHAKA is a former Senior Professor in the Department of Economics, University of Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. For the past four decades he has taught at the University and researched on several economic and developmental issues. He was the Chairman of the Institute of Social Work Governing Board, founding Director of the University of Dar-es-Salaam Consultancy Bureau, founding Chairman of the Moshi University College of Cooperative and Business Studies Governing Board, founding Chairman of the National Health Insurance Fund(NHIF) Board and Chairman of the Tanzania Investment Centre(TIC) Board. He has authored several papers; and is co-editor of Development Challenges and Strategies for Tanzania: An Agenda for the 21st Century(DUP,1994); Beyond Structural Adjustment Programs in Tanzania: Successes,Failures and New Perspectives(DUP,1995); Globalization and Challenges for Development in Tanzania(DUP,2006); and How Can Tanzania Move From Poverty to Prosperity?.
Abu A.K. Mvungi is a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Social Work, Dar es Salam. For the past four decades he has taught at the University of Dar es Salaam and the Institute of Social work, Dar es Salaam. He has vast teaching, research and consultacy experience in social development, social policy, poverty and safeguard issues.He was Head of Department of Sociology and Anthropology, University of Dar es Salaam, the former Rector of the Institute of Social Work,Dar es Salaam, Member of the Faculty Board of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Member of the Faculty Board, Fcaulty of Science, member of the Senate of the University of Dar es Salaam. Dr Mvungi has several publications on inclusive development, natural resources Management,civil society,policy practice,participatory development and Indigenous and innovative models of social work practice.
